Day 01: Arrival in Chandigarh | Meet your Bikes and the Fellow Riders
Reach the pre-booked hotel in Chandigarh and complete the check-in formalities. Rest for a while and then you will meet with your fellow riders and get to know each other better. You will then meet your road captain who will be leading the entire trip and will brief you about the terrain and will draw out a day-wise final plan. After the briefing, you will be introduced to the Royal Enfield motorcycles that you will be riding for the rest of the tour. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Chandigarh.
Day 02: Chandigarh to Narkanda
Start early to beat the traffic out of Chandigarh and head towards the Himalayas on the Himalayan Expressway. On the way, you will be passing through Chail, a hill station in the lower Himalayan range and home to beautiful flower orchards. After a short lunch break, you will head towards Narkanda, known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh. Apple and cherry trees line the roadsides and the tall Deodhar fir trees spread their sweet aroma all around. End the day's ride after reaching the hotel in Narkanda.
Day 03: Narkanda to Chitkul Pass
Wake up early in the morning to experience one of the most beautiful sunrises. After a delicious breakfast, you will leave for one of the most beautiful views of Kinnaur Valley. Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham from where you will take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for an amazing meal. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel/homestay in Chitkul.
Day 04: Chitkul to Kalpa
Wake up to a beautiful morning and have a delicious breakfast. Check out from the hotel and ride back towards Karcham from where you will proceed deeper into the valley towards Powari. At Powari take a left to ride to ReoKong Peo, which is the main town of Kinnaur district from where you will proceed to Kalpa. Spend the night in the beautiful Kalpa village overlooking the Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Overnight stay at camp/homestay in Kalpa.
Day 05: Kalpa to Kaza
Wake up early and after having a hearty breakfast, you will leave for Kaza. Ride through the Indo - Tibetan highway and pass through Khab Bridge which marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River. You will then proceed to Nako which is the last village of Kinnaur Valley and here you can take a short stop near Nako Lake. You'll then again hit the road and just as you cross Sumdo you will be entering the Spiti Valley. Just 3 Km after Sumdo, take a detour on the right through the gate to visit the 500-Year-Old Mummy in the Gue Village. Stop by the "Ajanta of the Himalayas" - Tabo Monastery, which is the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas. You will then proceed towards Kaza where you will be spending the night at a hotel.
Day 06: Sightseeing around Kaza
Post early morning breakfast, go out to explore the spectacular beauty of Kaza. Visit tourist spots including the Key Gompa Monastery nestled between the mountains in a bowl-shaped valley of the small village Langza in Spiti valley. Also, visit Hikkim which houses the highest post office, and is also the 'World’s Highest Post Office'. Hikkim is close to Komik which is one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India. You can also visit the Chicham Bridge, the highest in Asia and built at a staggering height of 13596 ft. After exploring the beautiful villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komik, return to the hotel in Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Kalpa to Kaza
Post early morning breakfast, go out to explore the spectacular beauty of Kaza. Day 08: Kaza to Chandratal via Kunzum La
Post breakfast, you will proceed towards the next location which is the beautiful crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. After passing Kunzum La you will take a right before Baltal to visit Chandratal Lake. The beauty of this place is spectacular and you will have to leave behind the vehicle and then trek for two kilometres to reach the lake. The lake is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. It is overlooked by the mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After the sunset, the lake glitters under the starlit sky adding to its overall charm. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the camps near Chandratal.
Day 09: Kaza to Chandratal via Kunzum La
Today you will be leaving behind the Spiti Valley and start riding towards Manali. On the way, you will be crossing the newly built Atal Tunnel and reach Manali. After reaching Manali you will check in to the hotel and take some rest. In the evening you’ll be free to explore the city of Manali. Later, return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Manali. DAY 09: Manali to Chandigarh After breakfast, you will be riding from Manali to Chandigarh and will be reaching Chandigarh. On reaching Chandigarh, you'll hand over the bikes and bid farewell to your fellow riders. This marks the end of your memorable bike trip to the beautiful Spiti Valley.
